Love makes the world go round, they say. Well at Heartsville High, the magical home of the musical Zanna Don't, it's all about LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. So be prepared to sing and dance and smile so much your heart will almost burst. The Australian Premiere of the Off-Broadway Smash Hit Musical comes to Melbourne this September 19th to 27th as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Zanna Don't is a hip musical fairy tale set in a world where being gay is the norm and hetrophobia a reality. Zanna is a magical, matchmaking teen who turns relationships upside down, challenges our point of view and changes the world. Set in a high school with hormones, the show wants you to think of Grease, but with a difference. Featuring a talented cast of amazing singers and dancers, performed at Kew's Royce Theatre, 12 Selbourne Rd, Kew, it's a show not to be missed by the whole family. Zanna Don't! is a social satire with heart and sincerity, boasting a score that flirts with funk, rock, pop, classic musical theatre, country and more, including the hilarious send up of the Village People In the Navy, a song called Be a Man. "It's a show that can be embraced for its fun, studied for its light and witty take on acceptance and tolerance, or merely clapped along with as a wonderful slice of musical theatre magic" says Producer/Director Jason Parker. Dates (September): Fri 19th - 8pm Sat 20th - 8pm Sun 21st - 2pm Wed 24th - 8pm Thu 25th - 8pm Fri 26th - 8pm Sat 27th - 2pm & 8pm
