Shattered Reflection was born from a newspaper article, reporting on illicit drugs in the corporate sector outlining the use of illicit drugs on a regular basis was more than a problem for the disturbed youth on the streets. The article outlined this systemic problem existed in the corporate sector amongst the most respected management and leaders of our time, in well known organisations.
Mental illness is a serious health concern for many people, misunderstood by most and many mental illnesses unexplained to how they came into existence.
A question remains between the connection of mental illness and illicit drug addiction. Does an illicit drug cause mental illness or does one self medicate with illicit drugs to relieve the effects of mental illness?
Surviving the corporate sector demands strength, agility and skill; stumble and be eaten alive. Surviving your internal mind warfare is a completely different battlefield. Your internal solider desires fair game, strategic logical process and nourishment of love and affection.
Christine suffers from mental illness and a personality disorder, exacerbated by her addiction to a cocktail of illicit drugs and alcohol. She holds a Masters degree in Arts Science and degrees in Business Management. Her role as the Divisional Manager for an international manufacturing company of truck engines and farming equipment in the Asia pacific region dissatisfies her career goals.
Amy is a Marketing Strategist for a marketing company. She met Christine at University in her youth and took Christine under her wing; quickly learning why Christine had no friends.
Oscar is studying sketch arts at University and works as a male prostitute to survive his University years. Ben is madly in love with Oscar.
Shane’s weekly delivery of wine to Christine becomes a game of cat and mouse, trying to keep his monogamy and principles intact and his pants on.
