The tales....
NO STRINGS ATTACHED
This quaint tale made its debut as part of the Perth 2007 Dramafest. The story considers the thoughts and feelings of those individuals who spend long careers in one vocation, only to discover, that as their career approaches the twilight years, the world they occupy, is changing rapidly, seemingly without offering them a ride. The story takes us inside the lives of two wooden puppets, ‘Flip’ the older of the two, has enjoyed a long and successful career as a fairground entertainer, his sidekick, ‘Scratch’ has only been with the show for a few years. We join them as they finish one show, and await the next…
THE GIANT
Fans of the Ricky Jervais / Stephen Merchant comedy, ‘Extras’ will instantly recognise where Johnny's inspiration came from for this fun filled tale. In this version, our talent agent, Steve Lester, owner / operator of the ‘Elite Film Television and Stage Academy,’ has received the news that his long term associate, the actor Danny Todd, has at long last scored a major role in a feature film. This, the break Danny and Steve have waited years for. For reasons of his own, Danny decides not to accept the part, much to the bewilderment of Steve. Can Steve convince Danny that he’s passing on the chance of a lifetime, or will Danny stick to his guns?
STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
There are many who believe that when we die, our actions here on earth, dictate if our souls end up in heaven, or hell. This raises a number of questions…such as…If this be the case, are we then assessed upon arrival? If so, where‘s the arrival terminal located? And what if the person being assessed hasn’t lived an entirely guilt free life? What if the assessment reveals a fifty-fifty split? Do these poor souls sit on the half way line for eternity? Who makes the rules? Come to think of it…with thousands of souls departing earth each, and every day, for God knows where, how do they keep track on who’s who? . WARNING: Stairway to heaven may prove disturbing for those individuals who take their dying and religion seriously.
