Playwright
Adapted by William Glennon from the Lewis Carroll original
Director
Christine Ellis

The Stirling Players are excited to present their latest production, Alice in Wonderland by William Glennon, from Lewis Carrol’s classic story.

This new adaptation of Alice is so close to the original in intention and feeling that you might suspect that Carroll himself had written it. A group of performers seek out Alice in order to provide “her turn” in Wonderland. As her adventure unfolds, they play the many characters she encounters and grows to love. All the old favourites are there, including the Caterpillar, TweedleDee and Tweedledum, the White Rabbit and, of course, the Cheshire Cat. Although this is not a musical, many of Lewis Carroll’s well known verses feature music and dance.

Director Christine Ellis is well-known in the community theatre scene for her youth-based productions, and Alice is anticipated to be no exception. The show is already enjoying much attention and interest from Stirling Players’ members.

Fast-paced and funny, this show is a joy to see and hear, and one that not only children, but people of all ages will thoroughly enjoy. This is definitely one to bring the children or grandchildren along to!

Alice in Wonderland plays at Stirling Theatre in Morris Place, Innaloo on July 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 31, August 1, 2. All shows begin at 8pm, except Sunday matinees at 2pm. Tickets cost $16 for full price, $14 for concession price and $12 for member price. Bookings can be made through Morris News on 9440 1040 or through BOCS on 9484 1133 (fees may apply) from 16 June 2008.
