After all those years of being stuck on pages in books, the legendary works of Dr Seuss finally explode on to the musical stage. But it isn't just a string of his stories set to music. And it isn't just one of his stories. It is a full-length book musical with a story that weaves together his most famous tales and characters in unexpected ways.
The Seuss lexicon introduces hundreds of wondrous characters, creatures, places and things, and Seussical incorporates elements from at least 15 of his books, along with many of his best-loved and most familiar characters. Many of these characters have never met one another before, but they are able to meet in the musical, often with hilarious and unpredictable consequences. Some will fall in love, some will have desperate adventures and some will save the world. All will travel everywhere - from the Jungle of Nool to McEligottï¾’s Pool to Palm Beach.
Dr Seuss believes in helping a friend, in not giving up, in keeping a promise. He believes in the value and dignity of others, in working to preserve the fragile sweetness of the natural world. And, above all, he believes in the pure power of the imagination. These are the concerns at the very heart of Seussical.
Brought to you by same team that delivered last yearï¾’s enchanting HONK!, this is a musical that will delight the whole family.
