"Nunsense"
Rockingham Theatre is presenting the Funny and Witty Musical, “Nunsense”
commencing on Friday the 13th of June 2008 at “The Castle”.
When the author Dan Goggin wrote the original script in 1985, he probably had no idea of the success ahead, not for only this production, but the succession of series which has since instigated a cult following. The original production ran on Broadway for 3,672 performances with rave reviews.
The Plot is crazy but simple: 5 Nuns of a Leper Colony are the only survivors of their cook poisoning the entire Nunnery. Faced with the task of raising funds to give their departed sisters their funerals, they plan and perform a “fund raising event” at the local school auditorium.
With Mother Superior an circus performer who can’t resist the spotlight, her rival and second in command, another a budding ballerina, a streetwise nun from Brooklyn and finally a nun who has lost her memory because of a large crucifix falling on head, the pace gathers momentum as they perform in front of you, the audience.
24 songs are included in this production and we guarantee to continue to give you great nights of entertainment. The production runs for eight performances [Friday 13th June to Saturday 28th of June].
