Garrick Theatre presents the Garrick 2008 One Act Season
Two One Act Plays

"A One Night Stand Off" a comedy by Martin Lindsay
Greg and Rachel wake up together, much to the surprise of both. An awkward situation at the best of times, made all the more awkward as details from the previous night slowly filter back to them.

A One Night Stand Off  is a comedy about singles and social graces after a night that went so right goes so wrong the next morning. This comedy revolves around two characters, Rachel and Greg, who after a night out on the town wake up together, much to the surprise of both. An awkward situation at the best of times, made all the more awkward as details from the previous night slowly filter back to them.

There are many things people will do to avoid cleaning up their flat. Some spend more time at work. Others leave the country and hope burglars will sort it out. Some just buy a whole bunch of throw-rugs and pretend they’re chic. Martin Lindsay on the other hand decided to write a play instead.

Based on some real and not-so-real situations, A One Night Stand Off explores the singles’ point of view of relationships and commitment. Can love blossom between strangers? Do our defenses protect or prevent? Is marriage where it all slips, or does staying single keep that glass half-full for as long as possible ? Should you allow strange drunken men to join your table at the pub, even if they offer to get the next round in ?

Featuring: Martin Lindsay, Jayma Knudson, Graham Sharpe, Gemma Sharpe

"The Trips" a black comedy by Dustin Robert Blakeman, directed by Tracee Royall.
Three hit-men sit impatiently in a room, waiting for a stranger to arrive.
All they have are simple instructions - end this person's life.
Tempers flare and bodies pile up as the Trips set in.... Whilst waiting, strange things start happening, leading to death and mayhem.
Featuring: Murray Jackson, Sarah Christiner, Brian Dillon.
