This is a story of an unconventional adoption plan, a plan with astonishingly successful results. When a baby is unexpectedly abandoned, Isabel’s (Leigh Arif) maternal instincts begin to stir. As the play unfolds frenetic complications with unforeseeable results occur. Peter Coke’s delightful story involves Rear Admiral Henry Lane (Tony Sears) and a divorced, yet seemingly happy, childless daughter Isabel. Together they run an antique shop housed within a large Georgian mansion filled with an assortment of interesting and mixed antiques on the outskirts of London. Adrian (Shaun Griffin), an employee, a gentle but nervous lad assists with serving a diversity of demanding and often eccentric customers. To add to the hullabaloo, Miss Hesketh-Palmer (Judi Laudehr) often has a major input into the running of the shop. This delightful play has some familiar and new cast members and should not be missed. Why not treat your wife, mother, daughter or granddaughter for a very special Mothers Day?
