Emerging Playwright Forums Chapel Off Chapel proudly presents a series of forums for Emerging Playwrights. This program offers writers, whose work is yet to be shown, an opportunity for rehearsed readings of their work and invaluable audience feedback on the plays. Join us after the reading in the Chapel Foyer for nibblies and a lazy Sunday drink. Magpies By Tom Conyers Directed by Equa Foot, assisted by Michaela Manchoulas Tom Conyers has written, directed and produced numerous short films which have played in festivals around the world and been short-listed for various awards - most notably his films Shining The Ball and Window Shopper. The latter, featuring music by international French band ‘Air’, whose two members personally sanctioned the use of one of their tracks. He has worked in numerous capacities on TVC’s, TV pilots and music clips, directing the music clip Gonna Make You Happy for the Melbourne–based comedy band, ‘Tripod’. He was also a founding member of ‘Dork Film’. His first novel, Morse Code For Cats, was released last year through Zeus Publications. He is the co-owner and manager of café Voodoo Courtyard Café in High Street, Northcote. His producer, Mark White(choreographer of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) has secured initial funding for their feature film script, scheduled to be shot late next year. Tom Conyers has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Philosophy Major) from Melbourne University and a Graduate Diploma in Film and Television from the Victorian College of the Arts.
