Address199 Cleveland Street, Sydney Central
Based on the puppet show first staged in 1832, The Fabulous Punch and Judy Show is a dark comedy inspired by burlesque, vaudeville and grotesque theatre. Local Sydney performance artist Brent Thorpe revives a classic tale in a no holds barred journey that unmasks what it means to be truly Australian. It is a work that makes Mr Punch proud as he unveils his political view of the world and takes action to make things right - even if that means slaying children, screwing maids and strangling poofters. It’s all in a day’s work.
With Linda Calgaro, James Forbes, Sam Haft, Arky Michael, Lyn Pierse, Morgan Popely, William O'Riordan and Brent Thorpe.
Directed by Anthony Skuse
