It is with some regret, that A lad in sane productions announce that their planned production of Bargain Burials (Old Mill Theatre October 2007) is cancelled. We scoured the west in search of 'Aussie blokes,' alas, we couldn't locate enough to go ahead. The writer now intends relocating the play from it's outback setting to a country town in the green fields of Ireland. Thus sometime in the future, we'll be on the search for actors of 'Irish' persuasion or descent. Interested actors can contact John on 9355 5591.
Many thanks to Paris, Brendan and Delmar for their interest in taking part in the Aussie version! Sorry we didn't make it lads!

The play that was..The year is 1976. We find ourselves in ‘Thomo’s Bar’ in the outback town of ‘Notmuchterdoo’ a dusty town where things often remain unchanged for years. Shane and Kev are employed by the local council, their job is to maintain the town’s parks, and graveyard. When technology arrives in the form of a backhoe machine, the council decide to hand over the work to Jim Corrigan, owner of the backhoe, and the town’s sole funeral parlour. Suddenly, the guy’s jobs are no more, and the two are made redundant. Undaunted, the pair decide to put their experience to good use, and open up a rival funeral parlour. Coercing help from their good mates Bob (local used car dealer), Davo (hotel publican) and Stewie (public bar lifetime member), a new funeral parlour is open for business…
