Perth Theatre Company Presents...
Popular career broadcaster and occasional thespian Peter Holland returns to the stage after a 10-year absence to star in Perth Theatre Company’s St Nicholas at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 4 August at 8pm.
This skilfully written cautionary tale focuses on a disillusioned and jaded Dublin theatre critic (Holland) in the midst of a life crisis.
The cynical and egotistic critic follows a beautiful young actress to London where he meets a band of vampires for whom he procures victims in exchange for life coaching.
The play was written by Irish playwright Conor McPherson, who is best known for his award-winning international hit play The Weir, for which he won the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright 1997.
Conor McPherson is arguably one of the most original, significant and acclaimed writers of his generation with the London Telegraph describing him as the finest dramatist of his generation.
Perth Theatre Company’s associate director Melissa Cantwell leads Peter Holland in this magnificent piece of theatre about sex, theatre critics and vampires.
Many will recognise Holland from his 40-year television and radio career with the ABC, Channel 9 and ABC Classic FM.
“Remarkable! The most rewarding theatrical experience… a story about hope, obsession, power, love, lust, illusion... very funny!" – The Boston Globe
