Roleystone Theatre is proud to present David Williamson’s classic play about Aussie Rules Football
“THE CLUB”
The play is one of Australia’s most successful, having been performed on both Broadway and London’s West-End, as well as being turned into a successful film starring Jack Thompson and Graham Kennedy.
The story is about the politics and personalities involved in running a major Football Club. Although the play was set in the 1970’s, many of the issues remain the same including the proposed sacking of a coach because the team is not winning and recreational drug-taking by a star player.
Although sure to appeal to all footy fans, the play also appeals to a wider audience because of the characters and the situations which occur in almost every organization, both sporting and non-sporting, amateur and professional, business or community.
Starring: Mark Blades, Derek Clauson, Rory Cornelius, Kim Martin, Phil McKenzie and Warren McGrath.
