cacophony by et al is a presentation of three new striking performance pieces by male emergent choreographers.
Presented in the unique architectural space of the concrete lounge, Glenferrie, the pieces have been crafted to creatively respond to the specific aesthetics and culture of the environment. The result is a unique showcase of engaging contemporary dance, which is itself a cacophony of vivid body sculpture, frenetic movement and delicate design.
In the relaxed environs of the concrete lounge, audience and performers cohabitate the space, contributing to the responsiveness of the performance.
The piece features personally designed sound, blended with the ambient noise of the outside bar, creating a stimulating aural environment. The seamless layering of sound and body design establishes an audio-visual cacophony which exhilarates, stimulates and captivates the voyeur.
Both Sunday night performances are preceded by a 20 minute performance installation.
Gareth Hart, Luke Hickmott and Adam Jackson have established et al to produce works which highlight local Melbourne choreographic talent. The companyÂ’s debut performance features choreography by these three male artists, all of whom have received critical acclaim from industry professionals.
N.B. There are two performances per evening, occuring at 7:00 and 9:00. Each perofmrnace lasts for one hour. Please see our website for more details or to make a reservation.
