Weeping Spoon Productions present an exciting new interpretation of Deathtrap, the 1978 play by Ira Levin, which holds the record of the longest running comedy-thriller on Broadway.
See the PICA performance space transformed as the team that brought you A Night of Pleasure…From Outer Space!, Tomas Ford Vs The Audience, The Forlorn and Greed invites a small audience to enter the house and sit amongst the action as the story unfolds all around. Walls will disappear and boundaries will drop as the body count rises.
Directed by Wyatt Nixon-Lloyd (The Love Pirate, The Forlorn), and featuring Tim Watts (The End of Sophie and All Her Friends, Manic Pony), Brendan Ewing (Manic Pony, Woyczek), Allan Girod (Dealer’s Choice), Brent Hill (Five Unenviable Lives, The Big Hoo Ha!) and Michelle Nussi (Nature as Explained by Theatre, The Big Hoo Ha!), this will be a unique theatrical experience you will not want to miss.
Weeping Spoon Productions is one of the most exciting emerging independent theatre companies in Perth, and with previous productions described as “dynamic and impressive” and “exuberant and infectious” (Geoff Gibbs, Greed, January 2006), as well as “inventive and unpredictable” (Stephen Hounsome, A Night of Pleasure…From Outer Space!, September 2006), Deathtrap will not disappoint.
