In 2005 Harbour Theatre presented Bram Stoker's "Dracula", in 2006 Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein". Now for the first season of 2007 Harbour Theatre, Fremantle's only Community Theatre for over 40 years, completes the gothic horror trilogy with a thrilling adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's
“Dr JEKYLL & Mr HYDE”
Written by David Edgar and directed by the award winning Nicola Bond and Peter Kirkwood.
Right and Wrong. Joy and Despair. Good and Evil. These are the themes brought to life by a superb cast of actors in David Edgar's thrilling adaptation. The story is told from the point of view of John Utterson (Alan Kennedy), a lawyer and friend to the mild-mannered, but brilliant scientist, Dr. Henry Jekyll (Phil Barnett). After relating a disturbing tale of an angry fiend assaulting a small girl, Utterson begins to question the odd behaviour of his friend. As he investigates further into the life of Dr. Jekyll he uncovers a story so horrific, so terrifying, that he can hardly believe it.
Truly a great work of English Literature, David Edgar's adaptation of “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” is a magnificent production that takes the audience to the very edge of madness.
PLEASE NOTE: Violent themes. Not suitable for children under 12.
MATINEE PERFORMANCE: Sunday 4th March. Performance commences at 2pm.
