Playwright
Tomás Ford, Rock Star
Director
Wyatt Nixon-Lloyd
You will find, in the Blue Room Studio from Oct 24-Nov 4, a haven where night-time creatures go to be teased, tormented and caressed by the one who truly brings joy to their fractured little hearts. This is not a cult. This is tomás ford vs the audience. A lyricist and crooner, dominatrix and electro punk rock god, sensitive, starved, and mad as hell; unlike other young performers who have spasmed about the stage desperate for your attention, Tom ás Ford (Big Fun Sometimes, Thom Pain) is done playing nice. He's willing to steal your attention by ANY means necessary. Formerly seen around town and across the country in Tomás Ford's Cabaret of Death (ARTRAGE, Big Day Out , Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe Festivals), Ford's 2006 ARTRAGE miniFestival late-night offering will feature new songs, new costumes and new ways to adrenalize, charm and appal you. Although yet to complete a single performance without breaking something (microphones, furniture, the occasional limb etc), your safety is assured as tomás ford vs the audience will have on hand a resident bouncer - as much for Ford's protection as your own! Wyatt Nixon-Lloyd (The Forlorn, Love Pirate) directs this songful spoken-word performance rollercoaster, choreographed by Sam Fox (ARTRAGE, STEPS Youth Dance Co). It will be sweaty. It will get messy -the atmosphere emotionally charged with rage and seduction as Ford leads and misleads you through your wildest hour ever spent in a theatre. Hold on to your chair, or he just might kick it out from under you! ...a very angry ABBA ...edgy, dark and unsettling ...one hell of an experience ...a cross between Bob Downe and Charles Manson Confronting. Odd. Shocking. Mesmerising. Seductive. Intense. Brash. WARNING ...this show is not recommended for anyone with suicidal tendencies, pregnancy or epilepsy -Adelaide Theatre Guide 2006 Tomás Ford vs The Audience 10pm Blue Room Studio 53 James Street Northbridge Preview Tues Oct 24 All tix $15 Wed Oct 25 – Sat Oct 28 Tue Oct 31 – Sat Nov 4 Tickets: $20/$15 Bookings: (08) 9227 7005 / pacs.org.au
