The latest outstanding production for Knox Theatre Company brings together experienced performers as well as some exciting emerging talent showcasing a classic Neil Simon portrayal of life with all its glorious imperfections.
“Jake’s Women” is a comedy drama that focuses around Jake, a writer, who is more successful in fiction than in life and when the pressures of day-to-day life become too much to bear retreats into his imagination. He deals with a marital crisis by daydreaming about the women in his life. Jake's women include: his second wife who is leaving him, a beloved first wife who is now dead, their daughter who is recalled as a child and is now a young woman, his loving but bossy sister, an analyst, and a girlfriend. As the characters he creates become as real to Jake as the people closest to him, his overactive mind provides him with a view of life's problems from a new and unique perspective.
