The Blue Room Theatre and Side Pony Productions present Scarecrow, written by Don Nigro, an eerie fable of mythic proportions. Cally (Adriane Daff) lives with her mother, Rose (Talei Howell-Price), in an isolated farmhouse in the middle of a cornfield. Rose hasn't been outside the house since Wednesday last week and spends her time pouring over National Geographic’s and bickering with Cally, preparing herself for the inevitable. Rose’s eccentricities slowly become suffocating as the two women manipulate each other’s fears and Cally dreams of a world beyond the cornfield. “Intriguing and truly oddball…Pepper and her team get the atmospherics just right. The striking expressionistic set is one of the most impressive ever mounted in the Blue Room” West Australian "Beautifully Performed.." The Post Scarecrow runs until 9 September, 2006. Tues – Thurs, 7pm and Fri – Sat, 9pm. Tickets $15 full, $12 concession, bookings are available through The Blue Room on 9227 7005 and www.pacs.org.au.
