It is 1964. Cold War America is looking for heroes in this uncertain time. Spy thrillers and international espionage offer an avenue of escapism from workaday life – and it’s here you will find author Ada Westbrook. Ms Westbrook, America’s answer to Ian Fleming, is holidaying in the Caribbean sun. But soon she, and her faithful secretary Frances, find themselves in the middle of a spy thriller with a plot even she would have been proud of. Who gets the plans? Who knows the secret code? Who is dead? Who is alive? Who is Mr Big? By the end of the night, we hope to know the answers! This delightful comedy was first performed at the Dorset Playhouse in Vermont, in 1965.
The Best Laid Plans is Eltham Little Theatre’s 2006 VDL Award entrant
