China Dolls in Crystal Places follows Xavier, a young lighthouse keeper accustomed to blue skies and smooth seas. One rainy night, he finds a family of waifs in his doorway. The youngest, Belle, instantly falls for the lonely and thin-limbed boy. Love and sex creep where they shouldn’t. Belle’s abusive father, Stradivarius, is not the friendliest of houseguests- he’s a master in deception, a professor in murder. Belle was his possession. The storm that follows quickly spins out of control, in a crescendo of passion, betrayal, infidelity, and murder.
