Melville Theatre Company's second show for 2004 is the darkly humourous play, "The Killing of Sister George. This play explores how the star of the BBC radio play "Applehurst" copes with the unexpected murder of her character. Into her tangled web of insecurities, her close friend Alice McNaught is drawn. The bearer of the "terrible" news is the ruthless programme manager who gives "Sister George" her marching orders. To add even more chaos to the plot, comes the humourous and overly dramatic, mysterious psychic Madam Xenia who is prone to making dire predictions of confusion and calamity. A powerfully entertaining play.
