Deprived of her father and abused by her loutish mother Little Voice turns inwards. There she discovers an astonishing ability to mimic some of the greatest female vocalists of the twentieth century. It is an ability which could deliver the whole world to her on a plate. Yet in her world mere survival is an achievement.
Jim CartwrightÂ’s play is a showbiz fairytale, a backstreet Cinderella story with a built in kick. Winner of the 1992 Evening Standard Best Comedy Award and the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Comedy, Jane Horrocks and Michael Caine starred in the recent award-winning film version of the play.
