Brighton Beach Memoirs is the first play in Neil SimonÂ’s autobiographical trilogy, which also includes Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound. Many consider the Brighton Beach Trilogy to be SimonÂ’s finest work. Set in Brooklyn in 1937, it is a wonderful story of a family coping with changes and events beyond their control. For the adults: the depression and the on-set of war. For the young: puberty and racing hormones. Simon weaves these events into a humorous and insightful work.
Patrons are advised to leave sufficient time to find parking, as latecomers may not be admitted until there is a suitable break in the performance.
