“Bring your own meat!!”
A young convicted psychotic murderer Micky Broome is released after five years, on day leave, as an experiment in Penal Reform. He returns to his parents’ suburban home of Elwood for a traditional Aussie BBQ, but finding them “shot through”, settles down to a BBQ with guests [the audience] in the backyard. Never being one to be deterred by misfortune, Micky lights up the barby, and as the meat sizzles, he chews his way through his past, issues of life, death, victims and justice, kinky sex and the death penalty.
LA MAMA THEATRE in association with PERFORMING ARTS PRODUCTIONS AUSTRALIA presents a one person interactive play on location in beachside Elwood!!
Premiered originally at La Mama in 1988 as part of La Mama's 21st Birthday Celebratory season.
