Agatha Christie's "A Murder Is Announced", adapted for the stage by Leslie Darbon, first opened in London at the Vaudeville Theatre in September 1977. The story is considered one of the classics of detective fiction and Christie fans will recognise it as the first of the Miss Marple series of mysteries to be adapted for television. In adapting the book for stage, Leslie has given this murder mystery added strength through it's humour - it is a delight to watch.
