AddressTheatreworks, 14, Acland Street, St Kilda
St Kilda is about to be invaded by trolls, dwarfs and other creatures from the city of Ankh-Morpork. ItÂ’s all part of a play called Men at Arms staging this month at Theatreworks in St Kilda.
Adapted from Terry Pratchett’s novel of the same name, Men at Arms is one of Pratchett’s more chaotic comedies. It’s a bit of a whodunit – or perhaps a “whatdunnit?” – chock full of trademark Pratchett puns, unexpected deaths, and other delightful surprises. As the city plummets into battle and mayhem, the characters try to solve a mystery with slapstick grace and (literally) explosive humour.
Men at Arms plays at Theatreworks from the 19th to 23rd of August, 7.30pm, with a matinee session at 1.30pm on the 23rd. Tickets sell at $12 and $10 for concession holders. For bookings, call the Theatreworks booking line at 9534 3388. Contact Cheng Lau at 0402 025 069 or email wclau@ugrad.unimelb.edu.au for more information.
