This classic Williamson play explores the relationship between a mother, her daughters and her new lover.

Frances is an attractive lady in her 50s who is about to leave Melbourne to travel north with the new man in her life, Frank, who is aged in his 70s.

Frank is still athletic and full of vitality despite his age but her family worry she might end up becoming a nurse for this man. Frances' daughters, Helen and Sophie, experience mixed reactions at the loss of their mother; outrage that she is leaving when they need her to help raise their children, disgust at her apparent juvenile obsession with Frank, and the inevitable fear of the unknown.

The pull between her love for her family and her need to do what she wants is a desperate struggle for Frances, but is not without its moments of humour.

Matinees are available on Sunday dates only at 2pm.
