John Bishop
AddressClayton Auditorium, Cooke Street, Clayton
The play is set in a home for retired opera performers. Each year, on the 10th of October, there is a concert to celebrate VerdiÂ’s birthday, in which everyone is expected to participate. We meet Cecily, Reggie and Wilf who are considering their contribution to the performance. Enter Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, and the stage is set for a play that is by turns both funny and poignant. Jean still acts like a diva and refuses to sing, or take part in the concert. But the show must go on .. . .

The playwright Ronald Harwood is regarded as one of the most interesting playwrights of our time with dialogue that is a pleasure to the ear as well as the mind. He has written a variety of plays which include “The Dresser”, “Interpreters”, “Another Time”, “Reflected Glory” and “Taking Sides”
