(Seize the Throat!)
Continuing ARENA's acclaimed series of stage adaptations of the Discworld works of comic fantasy novelist, Terry Pratchett. From the producers of WYRD SISTERS (2001) and LORDS AND LADIES (2002).
A comedic adventure of blood, tea, one grumpy old witch, three bumbling witches, a hunchback, a soppy priest, a bitchy imaginary friend and a mob of revolting peasants, all hell bent on ridding their kingdom from the most ghastly threat they have ever faced . . an invasion of VAMPIRES!
Granny Weatherwax is missing, failing to turn up at the Naming Ceremony of Queen Magrat and King Verence's baby girl. Who does turn up is a group of Vampires from Uberwald. But these are no ordinary vampires. They can go out during the day, they are not affected by crucifixes, holy water or garlic, and even though they still need blood to survive, they are trying to get a grip on the phenomenon called "a cup of tea". They take over the Kingdom of Lancre without a fight. But who will wrestle it off them? The search is on to find Granny, but in her absence, Nanny Ogg (the silver-haired hedonist) is left to team up with Magrat (the Queen and new-age witch) and the newest member of the coven, Agnes Nitt (who has a completely separate personality inside her) but is this enough to banish their conquerors?
SEE Vlad, the smooth spunky vampire stud weave his seductive magic over Agnes Nitt
SEE Agnes Nitt knee Vlad in the groin
SEE Igor, a self-made man of many parts, struggle to keep the castle full of cobwebs and spiders and squeaky doors
HEAR the name of the new royal baby spoken at her Royal naming Ceremony
HEAR revolting peasants doing some revolting.
SMELL Scraps, a dog stitched together by Igor out of bits of other dogs, who has the attack skills of a Rottweiler but the brain of a Spaniel.
Be afraid. Be amused. Be thoroughly entertained.
