“An attempt to find a value above all price for the smallest events in our daily life ”- Thornton Wilder
Thornton WilderÂ’s lyrical drama about two ordinary families living in adjacent houses in sleepy GroverÂ’s Corners, New Hampshire, in the early years of the century. With deceptive tranquillity, the play chronicles the tiny details of American life in its daily cycle: waking up, having breakfast with the family, going off to school and work.
But underneath, the play questions what its all about, and expresses, at times, a spiritual terror of what may lie behind it all – particularly as one young woman faces marriage, childbirth and death.
