ENDA MARKEY: BY POPULAR DEMAND
"Ireland,s top male musical star" (Irish America Magazine) Enda Markey, now calls Australia home. Having gained an international reputation as one of Ireland,s leading entertainers, Markey has recently relocated to Australia having enjoyed success at Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne last year and with his critically-acclaimed appearance at this year,s Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Last month, Enda released his second solo album, By Popular Demand: Live In Dublin with a concert at Melbourne,s Athenaeum Theatre. This is album follows the success of his debut CD Another Place And Time.

The songs in By Popular Demand were chosen by Enda,s many fans around the world via the Internet. A competition was run on Enda,s website giving people the opportunity to choose the songs that Enda performs in the show. "There was an overwhelming response to the competition with over 2,000 people voting" says Enda.
By Popular Demand fuses traditional musical theatre and cabaret whilst featuring standards from David Bowie, Gene Pitney and some traditional Irish songs for good measure. The performances mark Enda,s debut solo appearances in Sydney.

Enda Markey,s career has spanned some fifteen years. He debuted at eleven at The Abbey Theatre in Dublin and through his many appearances in major musical theatre productions in the UK and Ireland, Enda has become recognised as one of the "finest singers to come out of Ireland in recent years" (GI Magazine Ireland). He has appeared in London,s West End was also the youngest person ever to star in a production of Side By Side By Sondheim (Dublin) and has gone on to headline in musicals, concerts and cabaret venues around the world.
