A wise man once said, ‘Pop music is like cutting into an onion, the more you peel back the transparent layers, the more you cry no matter how much you resist.’

Blackbird Productions is proud to present the world premiere of POPSCARS, a commissioned production by the company for the 2002 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

The story follows the roller coaster ride of three young hopefuls that try their luck auditioning for a reality TV show, but are seduced into a world of broken promises, dance classes and glitter tops by a mysterious man. Will they be left with stars in their eyes or scars in their hearts?

WARNING: This show contains copious amounts of eighties music.

Whether you watched the television series for fun, or auditioned and did not get called back, come and enjoy this entertaining and hilarious new Australian comedy.
