SaraÂ’s got everything any girl would want, looks, a thriving acting career, a young lover and a trendy East Perth apartment. So what happens when her older sister, a new but very merry widow, decides to fly to Perth for a long overdue visit, from her home in Scotland. Family secrets emerge, an ex-lover comes to town for Telethon and Sara is forced to make life-changing decisions.
This is a very contemporary play, written by Alice Dale, who has been a working actress for many years in England, Africa and Perth. Her dialogue is witty, the situations are familiar and although very funny some real social issues emerge.
“The Wee Small Hours” is being produced by the award winning team of George & Terry Hackett,
Joy Northover is playing the part of Sara with her ex-lover, and TV heartthrob being played by Kim Taylor. Kim and Joy were last seen together in the Melville Theatre where they blitzed everyone as Marie Hoff & Ray Say in “The Rise & Fall of Little Voice”.
Sandra Sando who has been a much loved and popular actor at KADS for many years is performing Sara’s sister, Nan. This is her first glamorous role since Maxine in “Stepping Out” ten years ago – and she is having a ball. The young lover, Barry, is Dowal Hall usually seen singing and dancing at the Marloo Theatre. Dowal was last seen at KADS in “Abigail’s Party”.
