Violence.
Ecstacy.
Possession.
Dionysus, god of the anarchic, beastial, sexual, sublime and intoxicating - is back. Euripides' "The Bacchae" breaks forth in a modern-day exploration of violence, ecstacy and possession as seven characters undergo an "undefended day" - in which there is nothing to protect them from forces both outside and inside themselves. A desperate alcholic, a vicar gifted with the dance of death and the timeless love story of a businessman and a pig - all fall under Dionysus' power. An exciting kaliedescope of imagery, emotion, dance and drama.
