Cosi is set in a mental institutin in the 70's to the backdrop of the Vietnam war, and tells the tale of Lewis, a young university director, who is asked to direct a play with the inmates to 'bring them out of their shells.' He would rather attempt something simple but Roy, a manic-depressant and an inhabitant of the institution, has another, grander plan. Roy insists upon the Mozart opera, Cosi Fan Tutte, and much to Lewis' misgivings the task is undertaken. What follows changes the lives of all the participants.
