2005 IS THE YEAR OF THE PHILADELPHIA STORY
NOW THIS DELIGHTFUL COMEDY IS HOT ALL OVER AGAIN!
Written by Philip Barry especially for Katherine Hepburn, the original cast included Shirley Booth, Van Heflin and Joseph Cotton and opened in New York in 1939.
A year later it was transferred to the screen starring Kate Hepburn with Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart and Ruth Hussey.
MGM commissioned Cole Porter to write a musical score for the play and in 1956 High Society was released with Grace Kelly in the Kate Hepburn role of Tracy Lord.
Earlier this year the Melbourne Theatre Company revived this play with outstanding response from audiences and now comes the news that the Old Vic in London has the hottest ticket in town with the UK revival of the Philip Barry play.
We know you will enjoy this very special show.
