Bunbury Theatre is designed to bring fresh life to masterpiece works of literature. William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night - a comedy about unrequited love, jealousy and mistaken identity - provides plenty of scope for a gifted cast to entertain an audience all night. Set in the early 1900s, Bunbury's production of Twelfth Night utilises the magnificent colonial architecture of Sandgate Baptist's historical church on Moreton Bay's beautiful waterfront to bring to life a comedy which has never aged. Sandgate's scenic waterfront is in fact used for the very first scene, a ship-wreck off the coast of Illyria, now modern day Yugoslavia.
Bunbury's cast drives from a depth of experience in many areas of the arts, all tuned to providing a trusting atmosphere in which to work with one another. Direction is largely self-guided, indulging the actor to invoke the emotions of the character *in situ* from the writing, and relive their own life-experiences through the role. It makes for spontaneity and a fresh start to every evening's performance.
