AddressThe BlueRoom Theatre, James Street Northbridge
An outrageous black comedy from award-winning West Australian playwright, Dan Archibald. The Ashes of Great Men takes an hilarious look at the lives of a couple afraid to leave their homes for 15 years because of the terrible things that happen Out There. Suddenly, Out There comes knocking at their door in the middle of the night.
Dan Archibald whose play Waiting For Fiorelli was very warmly received at a Blue Room reading recently, crafts a humorous, incisive and poignant portrayal of a couple give a new lease on life that they hadn't been looking for.
The play features seasoned players Fred Lawson (Hamlet) and Rosemary Longhurst (Romeo and Juliet, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice) as the middle aged stay-at-homes and David Meadows (Hamlet, Brittanicus, Shopping and F&cking) as the deranged Detective Inspector Hewitt.
The production is directed by Grant Malcolm (Hamlet, Don's Party, Romeo and Juliet, A Doll's House) and stage managed by WAAPA graduate Kristy Anderson.
