Crazy Brave, a topical, contemporary one-act play set in Melbourne, opens for a limited 5 day season on 31st July 2002 at PrahranÂ’s renowned Chapel Off Chapel venue. Disenfranchised and faithless, yet fired by their imaginations, a small group of young urban activists attempt to shock Melbourne out of its comfortable apathy. When the stakes are raised to a dangerous level, alliances, beliefs and ultimately consciences are tried.
Starring Bruce Kerr, celebrated actor of the Australian stage and screen, Crazy Brave features an original score from rising composer and musician Hayley Barberis, a fresh young professional cast, as well as the work of other emerging artists including trained stage and costume designers, stage managers and musicians.
Up-and-coming director Nicholas Pollock, co-producer of the original play PandoraÂ’s Box which enjoyed a sold out season at the 2000 Edinbugh Fringe Festival and received a five star review from The Scotsman newspaper, is back in Australia to present his youthful take on Michael GurrÂ’s most recent work.
All profits made will be donated to the Kids First Foundation, a national charity which raises funds to help AustraliaÂ’s abused and neglected children.
