In the tradition of 'Michael Collins', 'Little Moon of Alban' is a gripping heartfelt drama that intertwines the sensitive issues of the Anglo-Irish war with the love and friendships of the people who lived it.
The play centres around Brigid Mary Mangan, a young Irish women who has lost her Father, Brother and soulmate in the war of independance.
Wars are won and lost as hearts are won and lost, though many emotions remain blazing after the gunshots have silenced.
Originally performed in New York by Julie Harris and Robert Redford, the play will be presented by The Studio and The Irish Theatre Players. 'Little Moon of Alban' will be directed by Noel O'Neill, one of Perth's leading directors trained by Lee Strasberg, New York.
The play follows the recent success of 'The Potato Eaters' written and directed by Noel O'Neill, which recieved no less than six awards at the South West and State Drama Festivals in 2001. Little Moon of Alban promises to be the most professional and inspiring drama to come from the Irish community.
Performances commence at 8pm, with the exception of a 2pm performance on Sunday Feb 17.
