'We welcome you to a vision of urban Nightlife, of stag nights and hen do's, to drunken crying girls and gallons of booze'
After seeing 'Bouncers' at the Edinburgh Festival in 1986 , I can remember feeling as if I had been taken on a roller coaster ride, yet at the same time knowing that I wanted to get straight back on !
Director , Kyla Winslet sums up the play, and perhaps explains why she is a long-time fan of John Godber's award-winning British comedy.
Bouncers takes you on a journey into urban nightlife , you met four young girls out to celebrate a 21st birthday, four young, over eager lads intent on drinking ten pints of beer and hoping to meet the girl of their dreams.
The play is fast-moving and energetic, yet on some occasions poignant and sad. There is minimal set ,props or costumes and the success of the show rests on the wide shoulders of the diversely talented, professional cast who portray over 20 characters between them.
The play has been updated and includes music by contemporary artists Fatboy Slim, Travis and Anastacia as well as old favorites such as Tom Jones and Hot Chocolate .
"I started Arresting Productions to bring widely enjoyable theatre to actors and audiences alike" , says Kyla. "Even if you are not a regular theatre -goer you will still enjoy this hilarious show"
The show is not suitable for young children as it does contain strong language and sexual references .
