Saturday 20th October - Lukasz Slawomirski featuring Lukasz Slawomirski piano, Shane Kelly bass, Con Mitskas drums with special guest Garry Lee vibes/guitar
Perth is very fortunate to have a number of fine pianists, and Lukasz is no exception. Originally from Poland, now settled in Western Australia, Lukasz is a regular player around Perth in solo and duo settings, and his swinging style makes him a first choice with many of Perth's top musicians. Lukasz will also be inviting his own guests on his appearances at DS@the MAJ, and tonight he will be appearing with long time friend and collaborator, Garry Lee. Garry is recognised as one of Australia's finest jazz musicians, and his recorded work with Lukasz has received wide international acclaim. Although his main instrument is the vibraphone, Garry is also an accomplished guitarist and founding member of the Jazz Guitar Society of Western Australia.
