NIDA presents
THE FRUITS OF ENLIGHTENEMENT
by Leo Tolstoy
directed by David Berthold

31 October 8pm
1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 November 8pm & Sat 2pm

Tolstoy is best known for his novels and tragic dramas such as Anna Karenina, War and Peace and The Power of Darkness. The Fruits of Enlightenment however, is a rare but very funny comedy. It is a warm and gentle satire on upper class Russian privileged society. TolstoyÂ’s decadent Moscow family is obsessed with land, money, seances and spiritualism.

NIDAÂ’s previous graduates have achieved highly both in Australia and overseas. They have received Australian honours; have been awarded more than 200 fellowships, scholarships and grants; and have won well over 600 international and national awards, including OSCARS, BAFTAS, EMMYs and film festival awards. The roll of NIDA graduates reads like a whoÂ’s who of the entertainment arts, and includes Mel Gibson, Judy Davis, Cate Blanchett and Baz Luhrmann
