AWAY is a funny but truthful play set in the summer of 1967-68. Worlds collide when three families imprisoned in a world in which their worth as human beings is measured in the cost of their holidays, are drawn together. Their journey becomes a quest for self-knowledge and a new understanding of the world around them as they learn to accept the motives, ambitions, hopes and fears which determine their actions. By the end of the play their lives gain new meaning through the dreams and visions they play out on stage.

Away has been on the secondary school course of studies for ten years, is the second highest selling script in Australia.

AWAY opens on Saturday 28 July and then plays nightly Wednesday to Saturday at the earlier time of 7pm through to Saturday 4 August. Matinee performances will be held on Sunday 29 July at 3pm, Thursday 2 August at 11am and Saturday 4 August at 2pm. A preview performance will be held on Friday 27 July at 7pm.Tickets are available at the 2WG Booking Office at the Civic Theatre or on (02) 6926 9688.
