The Old Nick Company Inc is proud to announce the production of Invidu. Invidu is a fully scripted local work in progress written by Robert Kitchell and Rod Garton; and directed by Carolyn Whamond.

Oru is missingÂ…

But then again if some of your friends were too wrapped up in the new gallery they were opening, another of your friends refused to come out of his room and would only communicate by internet, your Mum was drugged up on some new anti psychotic, your father was the company representative pedalling this new drug and your grandmother was trying to get everyone to make peace with the world wouldnÂ’t you run awayÂ…or just go out of your head.

And to top it all off as if the internet cameras werenÂ’t enough now there is a reality TV crew hanging around. DoesnÂ’t anyone care about Oru?

Set against the backdrop of an emerging art gallery friends are confronted with such contemporary issues as mental health, internet existence, constant surveillance and reality TV when one of their friends goes missing.

Have we brought surveillance to a new level with this form of entertainment and what does it say about our society and our desire to participate as a viewer. Do we need to be watched, are they keeping us honest or messing with our minds. And if someone can record our every action, who will end up seeing it and what will they think? And when will it all come back to haunt us?

The director Carolyn Whamond is bringing internet links, surveillance and projection to this multi media experience. She says, “It is an exciting new work which expands the boundaries of the stage. We will be bringing new rooms and dimensions to the live experience of the stage. We will stimulate all the senses as well as asking some of the most controversial question of this new media age.”
