Stories from the City; Stories from the Sea
Stories from the City; Stories from the Sea is a mini-festival of interactive Spoken Word and Theatre in celebration of our many environments - urban, metropolitan, rural, wilderness and marine. Walk-in, walk around, sit-down, drink-up and enjoy :- the event runs throughout the evening of Monday 30 July from 6pm to 10pm and features Western Australia's leading Spoken Word artists.
The evening will include the premiere of My Landlady's Garden in a Corner of the Kingdom of God, a new work by Noël Christian. Set in a small town in the Lower Southern Wheatbelt - the town to which God has retired - My Landlady's Garden is an adventure of miracles, haberdashery, body art, love and sunflowers. Specially written for this event, My Landlady's Garden has also been booked for performances in Adelaide and Melbourne later in the year.
The evening will also feature both new and much-loved work by Reed and Read, Jaya Penelope, Lacuna, Chelsea, Jazmin, Desmonda and many others, and the evening will conclude with an open mike at which all are welcome to read.
Stories from the City; Stories from the Sea is the culminating event of Lifesauce, a community environmental exhibition and extravaganza proudly presented and managed by The Lorax.
