15 year old requires acting job
Thu, 15 May 2003, 06:18 pmI am 15 years old and love acting, but have not been able to do much of it as of yet. I am wondering how I could get an acting role or if there were any spots available. I live in NSW, it would need to be within the state. Can any one help?

Hi,
I am 13 Blonde pale green eyes and intellegent. I absolutly love to act it is my DREAM to be on broadway or be in a movie, I know all you other guys want a acting job to but lets all give it a shot. WE CANT ALL BE FAMOUS. acting isnt just about being famous its the love of the job that keeps most people going. My frinds think I am funny and tell me I should be a comedian but I'm only funny to people that get to know me. So if theres anyone out there interested in someone wanting to go all the way for a small acting job. Please Help Me.

Sorry Love, but you have posted a request for acting on to an Australian website.
Best advice my daughter was offered at your age by the director of the theatre she used to go to for classes was: stay at school and complete your GCSE's, do your "A" levels in english and drama, apply to RADA and Lamda (both in London), go get life expereience and then reapply.
In the meantime find a local Amateur group near where you live and see what they are up to. My daughter got the opportunity to do everything from Shakespeare through to pantomime with the group she was with until we moved to Australia.
Dont wish to sound mean - but by posting that you want work onto a website like this isnt going to help you. You've got to get out there and find the audtitions for yourself - no one is going to come knocking on your door. That only happens in the fantasy world of the movies.

I suppose I am opening myself up for the abuse that Craig has been getting but..... I am sick and tired of all these posts.
No one is going to see your post and say "Oh just what I have been looking for a 12 year old actress - let me give her a job immediately!"

I have driven her around to lots of auditions and looked on this site for them with her. There is no way she would put a post up asking for work she is not that stupid!

I have been actig for at least 6 years now and enjoy it greatly. I am a bubbly person, I am very switched on and have a strong personallity. I get along with peers and enjoy any piece I am given.

I have wanted to bean actress since i was 5 and everytime i say that to my dad he tells me to work for it but when i do he tells me i can't do that to become an actress. but i will prove him wrong i will become an actress. I just turned 14, i can be loud, quiet, mean, nice,perky, down in the dumps you name it i can act it. so if any body knows where i can get a job somewhere that would be the best. i don't care if i have to do school through mail, everybody at my school thinks that i am stupid but i'm not.

Hey. I am 13 years old. I will be 14 september 10th. I weigha about 115 pounds. I love to act. I would do anything if it ment that i could be an actress. I love going to school. But I hope some day that i could be an actress. Since I live in perry Floriday there is not much acting you can do here. There is nothing in this town for kids who love to act like me. I would jsut like to say you shouldnt assume going to school means you are going to be learning. A majority of public schools these days are disgraceful, the only decent schools cost alot to go to so as the people on this site are looking for work you might come to the conclusion they cant afford to go to a private school.

I really want an acting job. I've acted in plays alot before. My sister goes to a school of performing arts, and has taught me a few key acting tips (she was one the leads in her play).

My biggest concern about all this is the possible dangers inherent in young kids posting these things on the net. There's a lot of dangerous and unscrupulous people out there. Don't accept any offers without checking the person out through MEAA or another reliable organisation. I'm not just worried about sex but also about evil agents. And don't e-mail me.
