Itchy Voids
Friday 26 June 2009
I spoke to a young woman recently, one that was accepting her time to die was imminent. We chatted in a happy relaxed fashion, just her and her daughter, outside the doors of a major hospital, her home for the past 8 months, now they had sent her away to die and her acceptance of this.
The time was 3am,a cold mist had shrouded the grounds and she sat in her wheelchair being cuddled by her loving daughter.
I told her the story of my own mother, lost at the same age as her and all the magical things that happened after her death, that life does not stop because your frail body cannot carry the weight of your love anymore. Your love never leaves the world it becomes closer to those who you leave here. She smile sweetly and I asked her daughter to take her into the warmth of the lounge close by,as we looked upon her, she had passed away her smile still filled with love.
A true story, A small part of Itchy Voids. My full length play.
