Can you have more than one agent?

hey
does anyoe know if you can have more than one agent? i have an agent but im not getting any work and there are some other agencies i would like to try out. i really want to get into the acting business so i need a good agent. ive been with my agency for about half a year and havent gotten any work at all. is this normal?
